Job Ad Responsibilities
The Online Marketing Coordinator is responsible for administrating and producing OUP-USA email campaigns and website merchandising. This individual carries out a variety of tasks from scheduling and producing email campaigns and coordinating site merchandising/maintenance, to providing ad-hoc support for special initiatives in online marketing. There is a concentrated focus to support our affiliate programs including special journal society book offers. This person will work closely with colleagues in product marketing, direct mail and exhibits to ensure that all efforts are combined effectively. Flexibility, strong communication skills, organization and attention to detail are all critical success qualities
Primary Responsibilities:
Support website affiliate programs for both book and journal marketing which includes outreach to drive traffic and website planning to ensure conversion and increased average order sizeResponsible for scheduling, creating (using HTML and Dreamweaver), and deploying regular email marketing campaigns to targeted recipient lists.Coordinate with marketing staff for email content, featured product selection, and timely execution of email campaigns.QA and test emails (html and text versions) for compatibility with multiple email clients and web browsers; ensure all links, images, prices and subject lines are correct.Collect and analyze performance metrics for all email campaigns and affiliate activityWork with Online Marketing Manager to execute special projects related to increasing site presence and email list growth.Research and develop new Online Marketing initiatives in coordination with Online Marketing teamRecommend campaign adjustment, new campaigns, merchandising and list development, and innovative testing to elevate online marketing results.Regularly update and maintain site merchandising and content to mirror email campaigns, marketing efforts, and monthly/seasonal promotions.Participate in content planning meetings for the OUP and ODO blogsAssist in planning and execution of email testing calendarAssist in planning and execution of website homepage banner and promotion calendarManage featured title placement on the home pageJob Ad Requirements
Proficiency with HTML and Macromedia Dreamweaver is highly-preferable. Experience with CSS and Adobe Photoshop is beneficial but not crucial.A demonstrated ability to write engaging marketing copy is essential.Excellent project management, time management, and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines are crucial.Clear attention to detail and desire to continue learning and researching email, SEO and SEM best practices.Typical Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, etc.) are required.BA or BS required; three years of work experience is preferable.Fundamental knowledge of publishing and/or online marketing is beneficial.
