&ldquoLooper,&rdquo developed and directed by Rian Johnson and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis, turned out to be the surprise release of the fall. Above is the pitch trailer Johson showed studios to get them on board.
It comes straight from the guy himself, with a short explanation as nicely.
&ldquoThis is a strange curiosity I thought could be appealing – just after I completed the script for Looper but ahead of we began preproduction I asked Joe [Gordon-Levitt] to record some voice- more than, and with assistance from my friend Ronen Verbit constructed this &lsquofake trailer&rsquo making use of clips from other films,&rdquo Johnson writes.
&ldquoThis is a fairly widespread factor to do when you're making an attempt to get a motion picture off the ground, but it was the very first time I tried it. It was meant to show a lot more some of the film's tone, and to demonstrate how the odd idea could be presented in a distinct and compelling way in the advertising and marketing. Zach Johnson did the sketches,&rdquo he further says.
Casting had not even started out at that point, so the faces shown in it (Brad Pitt&rsquos most notably) have no relevance.
What stands out about this pitch trailer, although, is the simple fact that Johnson was almost certainly thinking about going for a significantly darker tone than the one particular he adopted in the last film.
Speaking of which, have you seen &ldquoLooper&rdquo? If so, what did you assume of it?
